The New ME

As I write this post it is with a bit of sadness, but the up-most happiness… I know it doesn’t make much sense to me either. In any regards, somewhere along this photographic journey I think I lost the person whom I had set out to be. In the beginning I wanted to be that photographer that simply captured monumental moments and even the not so monumental as long as they were worthy of framing. I still think this is a positive direction to head… although my thoughts on the matter too have changed. I got lapped into what everyone else was doing, how they were editing, what equipment they were using and all this perpetually fogged my vision on my goals a head. So moving along, my New Year’s Goal. No, I don’t want to lose weight or be able to bench press my body weight X2, I don’t even want world peace (however it would be nice) and I surely know we aren’t going to be able to save all the starving bodies in the 3rd world countries (although that would be refreshing too). I just want to find me, more specifically, the photographer me. This person I want to find won’t feel vulnerable in her own "photographer skin." She will take photos to the best of her ability, edit as she feels needed and concentrate more on what she is doing and not what others are. I will add more color. I will add more love. I will add more diversity. I will add more me. Simple enough, right? So, here is to the new ‘photographer me’ and what better way to start off with photos of my own brood.

I have some amazing jobs with some amazing people coming up this year so stay turned, as I can't wait for you to meet them :)
